Snakes, Lizards to be Feature of Dickson Mounds Kids' Day

Dickson Mounds Museum will feature "Snakes, Lizards and More" for its Kids' Day presentation on Sunday. 

 The event will be from noon to 4 p.m. to celebrate World Snake Day. 

The program is presented by the Central Illinois Herpetological Society. It's a nonprofit organization dedicated to education about and conservation of reptiles. The co-sponsor is the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

There will be craft activities and discussions about living with both native and exotic amphibians and reptiles.

The program is recommended for children five and older with an adult. 

The Illinois State Museum-Dickson Mounds is open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
