$3M grant to help tackle lead hazards in Peoria

The Peoria City/County Health Department is getting a $3 million federal grant for lead hazard control.  The funding lasts three years and will pay for programs to reduce lead-poisoning rates in low-income areas.  The grant will target health hazards in 180 homes affected by lead poisoning.  The Peoria Health Department has received $8.5 million to tackle lead poisoning in more than 600 homes.
